How Four Seasons Farm Sanctuary Began

Four Seasons Farm Sanctuary Founder, Teri Beardsley, fell in love with horses the moment she was big enough to sit atop one. As an equestrian, she competed at a national level, and has a wall full of blue ribbons to show for her hard work as a rider. After retiring from the show circuit, Teri started a family and multiple successful businesses - but something was missing. Although she always kept a home full of pets, her love for animals was always overflowing and she needed somewhere to spread it.

So, the universe brought her Pablo, a one-eyed draft cross that needed rescuing. Malnourished and in need of TLC, Pablo formed a bond with Teri that would spark the beginnings of a dream - to one day run her own animal sanctuary.

The desire to help animals in need was distilled into her daughter, who one day brought home a six-week-old goat that couldn't walk. Just hours before her scheduled euthanasia, Dottie was picked up by Teri and her daughter Kayla and brought home. Over the course of a few months, they worked with Dottie every day to help her regain strength in her muscles and eventually learn to stand, then walk, then run, then bounce around like happy goats do.

Finally, Teri and her husband David found the land that would be Dottie and Pablo's home, as well as multiple other rescue animals, including but not limited to a miniature pony named Peanut and a mother/daughter donkey duo named London and Paris.

The community often made comments that Teri's animals live a luxurious lifestyle - often compared to The Four Seasons - and so the name stuck.

Our mission is to offer a forever home to farm animals in need, no matter the species, age, or condition. We rely on donations from animal lovers far and wide to be able to scale the organization and welcome as many animals home as possible.
